| Several times in the early part of this century, attempts have been made to organize a Swedish Day (Svenskarnas Dag), but not until 1934 did this come to pass. This year, 2008, is the 75th annual celebration of Svenskarnas Dag. The festivity is held in Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis on the 4th Sunday in June. |

| Music has been provided by the Male Chorus, other groups and soloists from the United States and Sweden. The Salvation Army has always cooperated in many ways with their band, other guests and speakers. The musical and cultural part of the program has been varied, appealing to everyone. The American Swedish Institute and Saint Paul Swedish Male Choruses perform yearly under the direction of well-known directors and accompanists. The Svenskarnas Dag Girls Choir, since their their beginning in 1966, has sung with their clear tone that is so appreciated in the Midwest and on their tours to Sweden. |
